What is a Notary?

A Notary Public is a specialist attorney, admitted as such, who is competent and authorized to prepare and attest certain specialized legal documentation and to authenticate documentation for use abroad. Additionally, both the Deeds Registries Act and the Sectional Titles Act stipulate that certain documents are required to be drafted and attested by a duly admitted notary.

A power of attorney is a document where a principal grants authority to another person (the agent), to execute a specific task on their behalf or to conduct their affairs in general. If you intend to use South African documents overseas (such as for example: your Identity Document; Marriage Certificate or Degree Certificates), our office can help you with authentication of such documentation.
